“Say when. We offer you this invitation to experience our exhibition with us–at your own capacity. Art making is a way of claiming time and space in a world that wants to steal both. It’s complexity when we’re being sold simplicity. It’s collaboration when everything around us is designed to isolate. Come in. Stay as long as you want. Decide what it means. Say when.”
– Sarah Massey, communications committee member of the 2026 BFA graduating class
This exhibition resides on the unceded territories of the Lək̓ʷəŋən peoples, the Songhees and Xʷsepsəm nations, and the W̱SÁNEĆ peoples which includes the Tsawout, Tsartlip, Pauquachin, and Tseycum nations. As students, artists, and residents on these territories we recognize the ways in which settler-colonialism has and continues to impact how we live and learn on this land. We also recognize the historical and ongoing and living stewardship of these nations.
