I am a multi-disciplinary artist with a heavy focus on the process involved in creating art. I consider much of my work to be a “labour of love,” and themes of obsession, repetition, and the passage of time are present in my work. Recently, my focus has been with mediums that can be worked with in a mechanical, repetitive way, such as yarn, thread, paper, and ice. Many of my works include multiples and culminate in hundreds or thousands of small parts coming together to make a whole. Much of my work has an ephemeral quality to it, either due to the medium’s physical qualities or as a result of audience engagement with the artwork. I enjoy exploring the concept of temporality within my art, and it is a common theme to see my work change in some way after its completion, raising the question of when the artwork can be considered to be truly “finished”.
