Tobi Quon Legault is a Chinese-Canadian artist born and raised on the ancestral territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh people, what is now known as Vancouver. He studies painting, drawing, and digital media at the University of Victoria, where he will graduate with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in 2026. He has participated in a number of group shows hosted in UVic’s Audain Gallery, including KILLJOYS 2025, a yearly exhibition that raises awareness against discrimination, harassment, and sexualized violence.
Tobi Quon Legault is a multidisciplinary artist who works mainly in oil paint, charcoal drawing, and digital media. Inspired in equal parts by historical art and internet culture, Tobi’s practice seeks to blend the two influences to create works about gender, identity, and how it feels to be alive. His work often features portraiture and animal forms, as well as abstracted spaces to depict the artist’s body and mind. Tobi views all of his works as self-portraits.
